KERR COUNTY BURN BAN STATUS

(As of Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026)

The Burn Ban is now IN EFFECT countywide. Open-flame, open-air burning is prohibited in Kerr County Precincts 1, 2, 3 and 4 until further notice. This includes all affected and unaffected areas impacted by the flooding disaster.

Areas considered AFFECTED by the flooding (those properties located specifically between the highwater marks on both banks of the Guadalupe River to include the river, the riverbed, etc.) REMAIN UNDER A COUNTYWIDE BURN BAN, meaning open-air, open-flame burning remains prohibited in those areas in all precincts.

Outdoor burning in the affected areas, which will be clearly identified as zones on an official Kerr County-issued map, will be permitted only after individual zones are cleared and the burn ban is lifted in each by local officials. Residents in AFFECTED areas must wait until their zone is cleared before burning.

Announcements of zones cleared for burning will appear both here, on the county’s website, and on the Kerr County, Texas, Facebook page. (Please check either location for future announcements.)

Any questions pertaining to the burn ban may be directed to the Kerr County Commissioners' Court at 830-792-2215.

For up-to-date burn ban information:

* Come back here!
* Follow the Kerr County, Texas Facebook page
* Call either of 2 hotlines: 830-792-HEAT (4328) or 830-315-BURN (2876)
