July 4th Flooding Disaster - Kerr County, Texas

LATEST DISASTER RECOVERY NEWS:

***** SBA HELP AVAILABLE -- The U.S. Small Business Administration Business Recovery Center (BRC) location is still open in Kerr County and accepting walk-ins who would like to apply for SBA resources for their home or business.

The difference between a Business Recovery Center and the Disaster Recovery Center is that the BRC houses only SBA staff and no other agencies. The aim of the SBA BRC after a disaster is to provide in-person assistance to businesses, nonprofits and individual homeowners and renters. Anyone who was able to apply for SBA resources at the DRC can apply for them at the BRC. The BRC offers help with the SBA disaster loan application process and provides resources to support recovery.

The BRC has specialists on hand who can answer questions provide guidance on disaster assistance programs

The SBA has a 60-day grace period in place for survivors who could not meet the original Sept. 28 deadline for physical damage to their home or business. The grace period will come to an end on Thursday, Nov. 27.

Survivors are encouraged to stop by and apply in person at the BRC located in the YES Center at First Presbyterian Church, 823 North Street in Kerrville. Or, apply online at sba.gov/disaster.

Businesses and nonprofits are eligible to apply for business physical disaster loans and may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.

The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program is available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries, and private nonprofit organizations impacted by financial losses directly related to these disasters.
