Kerr County Veterans Benefits Fair planned Thursday, Sept. 3
All area U.S. military veterans, dependents and survivors are invited by the Kerr County Veterans Service Office (VSO) to a free admission event planned for their benefit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Not only will there be special services, like dental care, planned, but the event promises to connect veterans, their families and caregivers with valuable benefits programs and resources from a variety of vendors and service providers all in one convenient location –the Happy State Bank Expo Hall at the Hill Country Youth Event Center, 3785 TX27 in Kerrville.
“We are excited to bring these organizations and services together for the veterans of Kerr County and the surrounding Hill Country,” said Kerr County Veterans Service Officer Jenna Sanchez. “Our goal is to make it easier for veterans and their families to connect with the benefits, healthcare and community resources they have not only earned, but also deserve.”
Special Services
The Kerr County Veterans Service Office has arranged for several specialized services to be available to veterans at the benefits fair.
Dental screenings and select dental services for eligible services will be provided on site by the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. Any veterans who think they may benefit from these services are encouraged to attend and learn more about the available dental care options.
Additionally, Project MEND will be at the event center to provide sanitizing, maintenance and minor repairs for mobility equipment. They are providing these services to help ensure veterans’ mobility equipment remains safe, functional and reliable for everyday use.

Admission and parking are free at the Kerr County Veterans Benefits Fair, which is held every two years on the first Thursday in September. And, attendees will be eligible for door prizes that will be given away every half hour for the duration of the fair.
Two food trucks will be on-site, making food choices available for purchase for those who wish to grab a bite at some point during their visit.
“As the Kerr County Veterans Service Office, it is our job to help connect veterans and their supporters with benefits they are entitled to under state and federal laws,” Sanchez said. “We encourage all veterans in the area, their family members and caregivers to attend, learn about what is available to them and take advantage of the several services being offered during this very special event.”
“Don’t miss this event! The next Kerr County Veterans Benefits Fair won’t be held until 2028,” Sanchez said.
“Still, the Kerr County Veterans Service Office is a permanent fixture available to help our local veterans free of charge,” she added. The Kerr County VSO is located in Suite 107 of the Allie Burton Annex, 550 Earl Garrett Street in Kerrville. It is open from Mondays through Thursdays, but closed Fridays.
