Cold rain continuing, light snow possible overnight as storm pushes through

Snowpossible

In its afternoon briefing, the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio forecast office stated that the cold rain will continue overnight. Light snow or flurries are possible on the back end of the storm as it pushes through.

Kerr County continues to be under a NWS Winter Weather Advisory through 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10.

There is a low chance of icing over this portion of the Texas Hill Country, but it still lingers as a possibility. Accumulation of a slight amount of ice is possible, causing impacts to travelers mostly on bridges and elevated areas of roadway.

Forecasters say a very cold rain will continue to fall, at least through midnight. Additional rainfall totals of between .5-1.5 inches are possible. A hard freeze is expected Friday night and into Saturday morning.

Take precautions to protect people, pets, plants and pipes.
