Kerr County, Texas, Offices Closing Monday for New Year's Day Holiday

Another brief break for employees of Kerr County, Texas, is scheduled Monday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day.

The one-day holiday will affect county departments located in the Kerr County Courthouse, 700 Main Street in Kerrville, and the West Kerr County Courthouse Annex, 510 College Street in Ingram.

Residents are assured that emergency services will continue without interruption. Law enforcement, fire department and EMS agencies will be “at the ready” to answer calls when summoned, per usual.

The offices taking the Monday break are expected to reopen with their normal hours of operation on Tuesday, Jan. 2. For specific business hours, refer to individual departmental pages on the county’s website: www.kerrcountytx.gov.

County commissioners expressed that they hope residents and visitors to the area have a merry time ringing in the New Year 2024, but that everyone also stays safe over the holiday.

Other upcoming 2024 holidays already approved by county leaders include:

  • Jan. 15 (Monday) – Martin Luther King Day

  • Feb. 19 (Monday) – Presidents Day

  • March 29 (Friday) – Good Friday

  • May 27 (Monday) – Memorial Day

  • July 4 (Thursday) – Independence Day

  • Sept. 2 (Monday) – Labor Day

The remainder of the 2024 and part of the 2025 holiday schedule for Kerr County, Texas, will be considered and approved late next summer as part of the budget cycle.
