Veterans Service Office Temporarily Closes to Facilitate Move to 550 Earl Garrett

Vso Closed

Kerr County Veterans Service Office, previously located in Suite 118 on the first floor of the courthouse in Kerrville, has announced that it will be temporarily closed through Jan. 5, 2024.

The closing of the office to the public is a necessity as Kerr County VSO Jenna Sanchez and assistant VSO Chase Allsup work to pack up the office and relocate it just down the street to the county’s 550 Earl Garrett Street campus.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we truly appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as we shut our doors to the public in order to make this move in an efficient, organized and timely manner,” Sanchez said.

Once settled in its new location, Room 107 at 550 Earl Garret Street, the office expects to resume its operations, by appointment only, on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024.

The Kerr County Veterans Service Office is responsible for assisting military veterans, their family members and their survivors who reside in Kerr County with information regarding the legal benefits available to them under federal and state laws.

The Veterans Service Office reports to the Kerr County Commissioners’ Court and performs under duties under the guidelines of the Texas Veterans Commission and federal laws.

The office does not adjudicate claims, but does focus on connecting veterans and their dependents with any available benefits that they have earned and that may be due to them. It can be reached at 830-792-2203.

Since Kerr County has a large population of military veterans of all ages, this office is kept very busy. Allsup was added over the summer to help alleviate the workload and just recently received his accreditation.
